A Guide to Defeating Stalkers or Surveillance Operatives

Like to idea or not in this day and age many of us are being watched, stalked and attacked in some way -- either invading our privacy or in extreme cases kidnapping or killing us.

Frequently such things begin with a simple stake out that you need to become good at detecting to protect your privacy or life.

In addition to courses you can take through security training institututes or on-line there are some books out there that can help you master this art of surveillance countermeasures.

One of these books is published by ACM IV Security Services  is called just  that: Surveillance Countermeasures.  And it contains such practical advice as the following excerpt from page 51:

"As the Principal) [the person being watched] leaves an area that he has assessed  as a possible location for an opposition surveillance stakeout, he should observe for vehicles or individuals meeting the profile of those employing stakeout tactics. He should be familiar with vehicles that are normally in the area of the possible stakeout and be able to identify those that appear alien and do not blend with others in the area for whatever reason. The Principal should discreetly note the license numbers of any suspicious vehicles when possible."

The book is full of information like this and while some of it --even much of it might not apply to the average person it does contain invaluable life for everyone.
